Financial Audits

We provide private company and not-for-profit financial statement audits and adapt our services to fit your organization’s specific needs.

Whether this is your organization’s first financial statement audit or your organization’s 100th, we can tailor our approach to minimize disruption and maximize efficiency. We understand that a smooth audit requires the auditor to truly know the business and the industry drivers. Our approach focuses heavily on planning and developing an understanding of your business and your processes. From there, we determine the areas of highest risk and build the majority of our audit testing around these areas. We perform our financial statement audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.

We have familiarity with many accounting software packages including QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage 50 (formerly Peachtree), Sage 100 (formerly MAS 200), Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains) and Epicor.

A word about our Audit Methodology.  We begin each prospective engagement with a defined set of client acceptance procedures.  We begin with verifying independence.  Although we like accepting new attest clients, we need to make sure we are independent, both in fact and appearance.  We also do some research on the client, their owners and their directors, to verify they are legitimate and reputable.  Finally, we confirm that we have the skills and the resources to properly complete the engagement.  This is all documented and a decision to accept the new client is made.

Financial Statement Audits provide the highest level of assurance provided by a CPA.  Financial Statement Audits provide REASONABLE, not absolute ASSURANCE that the financial statements and are free from material misstatement and proper disclosures are made.  This level of assurance is higher than what is provided in a financial statement review.  Assuming there are no limitations in performing the audit, the audit report provides the users with an opinion on the financial statements.

We conduct our audits using a full-scope of audit procedures ranging form inquiry and interviews to observations, document inspection and reperformance.  We pride ourselves with insightful, clear communication throughout the audit process.
